Dr. Sarah Duignan

Host and creator of AnthroDish, Sarah is a social scientist working in environmental assessments across Canada, focusing on socioeconomic and community health and wellbeing analysis. She previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at McMaster University, specializing in the anthropology of health, and received her PhD in Anthropology of Health in 2021 from McMaster University.

Sarah uses a biocultural lens to look at food and health issues, thinking about the connections between society, culture, environment, biology, economy, politics, and power inform how people behave and interact with each other. Her food writing and other media experience can be found here.
