Dr. Sarah Duignan
Host and creator of AnthroDish, Sarah is a social scientist working in environmental assessments across Canada, focusing on socioeconomic and community health and wellbeing analysis. She previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at McMaster University, specializing in the anthropology of health, and received her PhD in Anthropology of Health in 2021 from McMaster University.
Sarah focuses on looking at research issues through a biocultural lens, meaning she likes to think about all the ways in which society, culture, environment, biology, economy, politics, etc. can inform the way people interact and behave with each other. Somehow despite always being fascinated by food and nutrition, her research tends to steer away from that and more on big picture health... so that is why this podcast exists.
